Shandong Province to cut 4.65 million mt of coal capacity in 2018

In 2018, China's Shandong Province plans to eliminate 4.65 million mt of coal capacity and to restrict its coal output to 130 million mt, as announced by the Coal Industry Bureau of Shandong Province.

In 2017, Shandong Province produced 126 million mt of coal, while the coal industry in the province registered an overall operating revenue of RMB 470.75 billion ($73.1 billion), up 50 percent year on year, and a gross profit of RMB 22.69 billion ($3.5 billion), achieving its best performance of the past five years.
