Shandong fulfills dated steel capacity elimination target for 2012

As of October 31 this year, China’s Shandong Province had achieved 98 percent of its elimination targets for backward or dated industrial production capacities in the province for the current year, with a total of 182 enterprises affected by the capacity elimination, according to the local government of Shandong.
 
According to the requirements of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), within the current year Shandong Province had to complete elimination of 1.5 million mt of backward or dated iron-making capacities, 400,000 mt of backward steelmaking production capacities, 600,000 mt of coke production capacities and 22,000 mt of ferroalloy output capacities. All these elimination targets were achieved by the end of October, according to the Shandong provincial authorities.
