Severstal Cherepovets starts overhaul at its slab line

Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has started the overhaul of basic equipment at the slab line in its electro-smelting shop.

The overhaul, amounting to a value of more than Ruble 5 million (approx. $181,000), includes the repair of the mill's shaft furnace No. 1, and the installation of the ladle furnace No. 2 and of the concaster. In addition, during the overhaul Severstal Cherepovets also plans to repair its cranes.

The overhaul is scheduled to take place over 15 days and is directed towards the reduction of costs and the increase of equipment safety during working operations.
