Schnitzer Steel acquires Washington-based auto parts recycler

Portland, Oregon-based steelmaker Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. announced Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of Seattle, Washington-based Ferrill's Auto Parts, a self service auto recycler, which operates as Pull A Part. In acquiring Ferrill's Auto Parts, Schnitzer is acquiring the company's locations in Arlington, Lynnwood, and Tacoma, Washington.

The acquisition will become a part of Schnitzer Steel Industries' Auto Parts Business and operate unders the "Pick-n-Pull" brand. 

"This transaction continues the expansion of our Auto Parts Business into a new market and establishes a platform for continued growth in the greater Seattle and Western Washington region," said Tamara Lundgren, CEO of Schnitzer Steel Industries.
