Salzgitter to build a new blast furnace and slab caster

German steelmaker Salzgitter is going to build a new blast furnace in order to increase company's crude steel supply and a continious slab caster that will raise quality of its coil products for the automotive sector together with plate business, which will cost them about €70 million. The company stated that they are planning to launch production in last quarter of next year or first quarter of 2005.
