The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) of Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited has achieved its highest-ever pig iron, crude steel and saleable steel outputs during the April-November period of 2017, since the steel mill’s inception in the 1960s, a company statement has said.
During the April-November period this year, RSP achieved 2,868,505 mt of pig iron production, the highest since the plant’s inception and up 12.8 percent year on year.
In the given period, crude steel production was recorded at 2,093,761 mt, rising by 15.1 percent over the corresponding previous period of 2016 and saleable steel production was recorded at 1,922,408 mt, up 9.8 percent year on year, the statement said.
