SAIL’s Rourkela mill records higher-ever output in April-December

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has recorded its highest-ever production of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel for the first three quarters of a financial year during the three quarters from April to December 2018, according to a company statement on Friday, January 4.

The statement said that, during the first three quarters of the financial year 2018-19, RSP produced 2, 810,876 mt of pig iron, up 13.6 percent, and 2,688,080 mt of crude steel, rising by 12.6 percent, both year on year. Finished steel production for the period amounted to 2,443,511 mt, up 12.4 percent year on year.
