SAIL to increase steelmaking capacity of Bokaro plant

Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has confirmed its plans to the increase steelmaking capacity of its Bokaro steel plant.
 
SAIL said that the proposal has been submitted to the company board to increase the crude steel capacity of the Bokaro steel plant from 4.36 million mt per year to 13.4 million mt per year in phases over the next 10 to 15 years. This capacity increase is expected to make Bokaro steel plant one of the top producing steel plants among SAIL's plants.
