Indian state-run steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has reported sales of 1.28 million mt for June this year, up 18 percent year on year, according to a company statement on Tuesday, July 7.

According to the company, the higher sales were achieved riding on the highest monthly exports ever recorded by the company at 340,000 mt in June.

India has entered into ‘Unlock 2” phase and gradually the pace of industrial activities has started picking up. The market is looking up along with consumption and SAIL is geared up to leverage all its potential to meet the demand in the country. At the same time, avenues in the export market have also opened up and SAIL is relentlessly working to meet the demand generated from new markets,” Anil Kumar Chowdhury, chairman of SAIL, said in the statement.
