SAIL improved iron ore output in 2003-2004 fiscal

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) reported that company's raw material division enhanced its iron ore production and delivery in 2003-2004 fiscal, ended on March 31, and recorded its highest ever figures with 12.78 million tons and 12.56 million tons, respectively. These results indicate a growth by 8% in production and 7% in delivery compared to previous fiscal year. Furthermore, mines at Kiriburu, Meghahatubru and Bolani have reportedly improved iron ore production by 14%, 12% and 8% respectively, with production figures of 3.61 million, 3.57 million and 3.31 million tons. According to SAIL's plans for the current fiscal year, it is aimed that raw material division will supply 13.93 million tons of iron ore and mining will be commenced at Taldih.
