Russia’s Metalloinvest sees increased steel output in 2009

In 2009, the Russian iron ore and steel producing company Metalloinvest Holding (Metalloinvest) increased its steel output by two percent year on year to 6.5 million mt, while its shipments of steel products went up by six percent to 6.4 million mt, compared to 2008.
 
Meanwhile, Metalloinvest's fourth quarter steel output and deliveries of steel products remained at the level of the third quarter of this year, i.e., 1.7 million mt.
 
Metalloinvest's steel division includes Oskol Metallurgical Plant (OEMK) and Ural Steel.
