Russia’s finished steel output up

Russia's finished steel output through the first four months of 2005 rose 5.8% year on year to 18.2 million tons, data from Russia's Federal Statistics Service indicate. Steel pipe output during the same period dropped 0.6% to 2 million tons. On the other hand, iron ore output rose 1.8% to hit 31.8 million tons. Russia's coal output also saw a year-on-year increase of 3.1% to reach 98.9 million tons. Coke production, however, declined 2.9% to 10.8 million tons.
