Russian Steel member firms' finished steel output up 0.4% in Jan

Russkaya Stal (Russian Steel), a non-profit association of Russian domestic steelmakers, has reported that its main member enterprises produced 4.59 million metric tons of finished steel in January this year, up 0.4 percent compared to January 2013.

Finished steel shipments of Russian Steel member companies to domestic end-users in January of the current year were up 1.7 percent year on year to 2.42 million mt.

Members of Russian Steel exported 2.17 million mt of finished steel in January this year, down one percent compared to January 2013.

Members of Russian Steel account for around 96 percent of the pig iron produced in Russia as well as around 90 percent of domestic crude and finished steel production.
