Russian iron ore exports up 9.8 percent in Q1

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the January-March period of this year Russia's exports of iron ore increased by 9.8 percent compared to the same period last year to 6.809 million mt, worth a total of $592.7 million, down 12.5 percent year on year.

In the first quarter, Russian exports of coal increased by 20.1 percent year on year to 33.049 million mt, worth a total of $2.97 billion, down 2.3 percent year on year.

In the given period, Russia exported 526,600 mt of coke and semi-coke, up 13 percent year on year, worth a total of $123.3 million, up 6.8 percent year on year.
