Russia ups steel exports to non-CIS countries

Russia's Federal Customs Service said that the country's iron and steel exports to non-CIS countries rose 85.4% year-on-year to $1.41 billion in January 2005. Soft coal exports jumped 49.1% to 3.4 million tons, while steel pipe imports totaled 25'300 tons, including 5'000 tons from the CIS.
