Russia ups stainless steel output

According to the data released by the Federal State Statistics Service of Russian Federation, the county's production of stainless steel increased 27.5 percent year on year to 58,466 metric tons in January-July 2006. In particular Chelyabinsk MK (ChMK), Red October MK and Izhstal, the largest producers of stainless steel in Russia, increased the production of stainless steel by 2.3 times to 25,307 metric tons, by 15.2 percent to 4,143 metric tons and by 14.6 percent to 9,195 metric tons respectively during period under consideration.
