The Russian government has temporarily canceled the five percent import duty for certain cold rolled steel products (cold rolled coils of iron or non-alloyed steel used in the manufacture of motor vehicles and their parts) for the nine month-period starting from February 22, 2009.

Products under HS Codes 7209 17 900 1 and 7209 27 900 1 are affected by the governmental decision No. 962.

Meanwhile, the government has decided that cold rolled steel products under HS Codes 7209 17 900 9 and 7209 27 900 9 will be imported with a five percent duty.

The decision was taken in order to support domestic manufacturers of cars and other motor vehicles.
