Russia issues January-August production results

In the first eight months of the current year, Russia registered a 2.3 percent rise in its crude steel output to 47.2 million mt, a 0.9 percent rise in its pig iron production to 33.8 million mt and a 3.3 percent increase in its rolled steel output to 40.8 million mt, all year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). In the given period, Russia saw a 5.7 percent increase year on year in its steel pipe production to 7.2 million mt.

In August alone, in Russia crude steel production increased by 5.3 percent, pig iron output went up by 3.1 percent, rolled steel output rose by 7.9 percent, while steel pipe production increased by 15 percent, all year on year.
