Russia issues January-August production results

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the January-August period of the current year Russia registered a 5.6 percent rise in its rolled steel product output to 41.7 million mt, a 4.4 percent increase in its crude steel output to 47.5 million mt and a 6.7 percent rise in its pig iron production to 33.8 million mt, all year on year. In the given period, Russia saw a 10.1 percent decrease year on year in its steel pipe production to 6.3 million mt.
 
In addition, in January-August Russia produced 227 million mt of coal and 18.2 million mt of metallurgical coke, up seven percent and 0.2 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.
