Russia issues Jan-Feb production results

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the first two months of the current year Russia registered a 6.1 percent rise year on year in its finished steel product output to 10.2 million mt, a 4.8 percent increase in its crude steel output to 11.8 million mt and a 6.5 percent rise in its pig iron production to 8.3 million mt. In January-February, Russia saw an 18.8 percent decrease in its steel pipe production to 1.5 million mt.

In January-February 2012, Russia produced 56.4 million mt of coal and 4.4 million mt of metallurgical coke - up 5.5 percent and 1.4 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.
