Rizhao Steel completes hot test on continuous casting machine No. 5

A successful hot run test was carried out on March 15 on the continuous casting machine No. 5 of Shandong Province-based Chinese steelmaker Rizhao Steel Holding Group Co., as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Co. (MCC) on March 19. The new casting machine was built by MCC subsidiary Tianjin-based MCC Tiangong Group Co.
 
The continuous casting machine No. 5 is a 160 mm x 160 mm eight-strand billet caster, with an annual output capacity of 1.7 million mt. Installation was completed on February 12 this year, while testing commenced on March 5.
