Rig counts slips by four in US and Canada

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending April 26, the US rig count fell by four to 1,754, following a 13-rig drop a week ago. The rig count was also down 191 rigs from 1,945 in the same week a year ago. During the week, the oil rig count increased by 10 to 1,381 while the gas-directed rig count decreased by 13 to 366.

Meanwhile, Canada's rig count fell another four to 122, following double-digit drops in the previous three weeks. Year-on-year, Canada's rig count is down 12 from 134.
