Republic Engineered to install billet caster

Republic Engineered Products Inc, North America's leading supplier of special bar quality (SBQ) products, has recently announced that it is planning to invest $50 million to install a second continuous billet/bloom caster at its mill in Canton, Ohio. The billets and blooms of the second continuous caster will be shipped to Republic's rolling mills at Lorain and Lackawanna, NY. The company officials stated that the investment will strengthen the capacity of the company to supply high-quality electric furnace steel products to the industrial equipment, automotive and other sectors.
