Reliance Steel acquires Crest Steel Corp.

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Crest Steel Corporation, a mid-sized steel service center company headquartered in Carson, California. The transaction is expected to be finalized in early 2007. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Crest Steel Corporation specializes in the processing (cutting, burning, slitting, leveling, bending, drilling, coating, heat treating, etc.) and delivering of steel from producing mills to steel service centers. The company has additional distribution/processing centers in Riverside, CA and Phoenix, AZ. Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, is one of the largest metals service center companies in the US. The company has a wide network of more than 150 locations in 37 US states and worldwide. Products include galvanized, hot-rolled and cold-finished steel; stainless steel; aluminum; brass; copper; titanium and alloy steel.
