Algeria’s El Hadjar, one of the most troubled steel-producing assets in the country, has recently reported another explosion. The accident, however, will hardly have a significant impact on the mill’s operations.

At the end of last week, there was an explosion at El Hadjar’s oxygen plant, with the official reason given by the company authorities being a gas leak, SteelOrbis has learned. Some workers were injured, which caused some employees to call for better professional safety at El Hadjar. “Production at the mill is still running according to some local buyers. It is said to be a small accident with minimal effect,” a source said.

As SteelOrbis reported earlier, El Hadjar is undergoing some serious check-ups of its efficiency as the government seek to estimate the business efficiency of the project.
