Rebar for UAE airport project might be supplied from Turkey
After the tender for the new airport project in the UAE has been awarded to the Laing O'Rourke (UK) – Al-Nabudah (UAE) Consortium, now where the necessary reinforcing bars will be supplied from by the contractor companies is questioned. Laing O'Rourke is also known for being awarded the T-5 project in the UK. Rumor has it that the potential suppliers are from Ukraine and the local mills, both having a 50% share. Nevertheless, due to some quality and financial doubts, the demand has a potential to shift towards Turkish rebar exporters. The inspector company checking for the quality of the project is said to be rather strict about the “unrusty delivery condition” and this strengthens the belief toward a shift in the demand toward Turkish exporters.Rebar for UAE airport project might be supplied from Turkey
