Minas Gerais state prosecutors proposed a conduct adjustment commitment term (TAC) for flats producer Usiminas to reduce emissions near its Ipatinga mill, located in the city of same name in the state of Minas Gerais.

Usiminas has yet to make a decision on the TAC. If Usiminas signs the environmental document, it would be compelled to “prove” it has reduced emissions in Ipatinga. The company would also be required to undertake specific monitoring of emissions, including affected areas, prosecutors said.

Usiminas said it would analyze the TAC and would respond to the terms of the agreement.
