UK-based plantmaker Primetal Technologies will supply a continuous galvanizing line and a continuous pickling line to Chinese steelmaker Chengde Steel for the latter’s cold rolling and processing plant to be built in Hebei region. Both lines will be able to be operated with strips of high thickness, which will be used for construction, automotive and building markets. The production of the first galvanized coil and first pickled coil is planned for the third quarter of 2019.
The new cold rolling complex is expected for an overall output of 2.1 million mt per year, including cold-rolled coils, annealed coils, full hard coils as well as hot galvanized coils. Chengde Steel is part of the HBIS Group Co., Ltd., China´s largest steel producer with an annual production of over 46 million mt in 2016.
