Preliminary results of AD review on SSSS imported from Japan
Upon the request of the petitioners Allegheny Ludlum, North American Stainless, Local 3303 United Auto Worker, United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO/CLC, and Zanesville Armco Independent Organization, the US Department of Commerce (DOC), on August 30, 2004, initiated an antidumping administrative review on stainless steel sheet and strip imported from Japan. The review covered the period July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004. Imports from Japanese producer Kawasaki Steel Corporation and its alleged successor-in-interest, JFE Steel Corporation, were subject to the review. The DOC preliminarily determined that because the respondent did not participate in the review it is appropriate to base its rate on adverse facts available. The weighted-average dumping margin for the period July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004, is as follows:Producer/Manufacturer Margin Kawasaki Steel Corp/JFE Steel Corp............57.87%Interested parties are requested to comment on the preliminary results.
