Preliminary results of AD review on SS bar imported from Italy

On March 7, 2002, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) imposed an antidumping duty order on stainless steel bars imported from Italy. Upon the request of Carpenter Technology Corporation, Crucible Specialty Metals, Empire Specialty Steel Inc, Slater Steels Corp and the United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO/CLC, the DOC, on May 27, 2004, initiated an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on stainless steel bars imported from Italian producer UGITECH S.A, formerly known as Ugine Savoie-Imphy S.A. The review covered the period March 1, 2003, through February 29, 2004. The DOC preliminarily determined that during the period of review, UGITECH did not make any shipments of subject merchandise. Accordingly, the DOC decided to rescind the administrative review with respect to UGITECH. Moreover, the DOC found that UGITECH S.A. is the successor-in-interest to Ugine Savoie Imphy S.A. Interested parties are requested to comment on the preliminary results.
