POSCO to increase auto steel capacity in Thailand

South Korean steel giant POSCO has announced that it will build its third steel processing plant in Thailand in cooperation with a major Japanese automaker, the name of which has not been disclosed.

The company said that the new plant, whose construction is scheduled to be completed by October 2008, will produce 120,000 mts of steel sheets to be used for automobiles.

With this new mill together with its two other existing steel sheet plants, POSCO will be able to process a combined 400,000 mts of steel sheets every year in Thailand.
