Peruvian steelmaker Aceros Arequipa will get two additional rolling mill stands from Danieli, the Italy-based supplier said this week. The installation of the equipment is part of a project to upgrade the steelmaker’s rolling mills, which will allow Aceros Arequipa to produce 160 mm square billet.

“The equipment is already designed to roll 180-mm square billet as part of the third phase of the modernization, coming into force by September 2019,” Danieli said

The equipment’s start-up is forecasted for Q2 2020. Danieli will supply one horizontal and one vertical 6548 cartridge-type stands as well as lubrication and hydraulic valves bench. Electrical equipment and integration to a L1 system will be provided as well.
