Peruvian steel service center Comasa reports declined profits in 2017

Peruvian steel service center Comasa reported a decline in net profit for the full year of 2017 by 18 percent, year-on-year, to PEN 33.7 million ($10.3 million) on decreased revenues and higher cost of products sold.

The flat steel-focused service center said net revenues in Q4 totaled PEN 423.8 million ($130.7 million), 1 percent down, year-on-year, due to reduced steel sales volumes totaling 107,000 mt.

Comasa’s gross profit in Q4 was PEN 87 million ($26.8 million), 13 percent down, year-on-year.
