The Peruvian ministry of mines and energy, Minem, announced on Sunday it will halt activities on Monday, March 16, as a way to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
The ministry will remain in isolation for 15 days, following a Peruvian government decree, which aims to contain the Covid-19.
Minem oversees mining and iron ore activities, regulations, as well as industry data, including gathering and publishing monthly iron ore production figures.
