Peruvian iron ore export prices decline to lowest level in 2018

Peruvian iron ore export prices in April have reached the lowest level so far this year, according to data released by the country’s central bank, BCRP.

According to government data, Peruvian iron ore export prices in April reached $26.4/mt, down from $39.2/mt in the same month of the year prior.

Peruvian iron ore export prices in April also fell from $31.9/mt in March, on a month-on-month analysis.

Peruvian iron ore export volumes in April totaled 1.1 million mt, down from 1.5 million mt in April 2017, and from 1.6 million mt in March this year.

As for the last 12 months, this was the second lowest level for the commodity’s export price, according to BCRP data.

In June 2017, Peruvian iron ore export price was $26.3/mt.
