Peru’s iron ore production increases 16.2 percent in March

Iron ore production at Peruvian’s only producer Shougang Hierro Peru rose 16.2 percent in March, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s mines and energy ministry.

According to government data, iron ore production at Shougang Hierro Peru reached 892,665 mt in the third month of the year.

In Q1, the nation’s iron ore production totaled 2.2 million mt, 12.6 percent up year-on-year, when compared to the 2 million mt produced in the same period of last year.
