Peru’s flats service center chain Comasa sees profit drop in Q3

Peruvian flats service center Comercial del Acero (Comasa) saw its net profit in Q3 this year drop 57 percent, year-on-year, to PEN 8.7 million ($2.7 million), the company said while releasing its quarterly results.

The company saw its gross profit in Q3 decline to PEN 18.4 million ($5.7 million) from PEN 31.5 million ($9.73 million), attributed mainly to reduced net revenues, which declined 12 percent in Q3, year-on-year, to PEN 109.1 million ($33.7 million).

As for the nine-month period ended on September 30, the company posted a net profit of PEN 25 million ($7.7 million), 21.8 percent down, year-on-year.
