Peruvian flat steel service center chain Comercial del Acero (Comasa) saw its net profit in Q2 2018 rise to PEN 8.6 million ($2.6 million) from PEN 7.7 million ($2.3 million) in the same quarter of 2017.
Net revenues in Q2 reached PEN 123.2 million ($37.7 million), 21.5 percent up, year-on-year. Cost of sales in Q2 grew to PEN 101.6 million ($31.1 million) from PEN 80.6 million ($24.6 million), while gross profit in Q2 was PEN 21.5 million ($6.5 million), 3.6 percent up, year-on-year.
As for H1, Comasa said net profit was PEN 17 million ($5.2 million), 11.5 percent down, year-on-year. Comasa said in a statement that higher steel selling prices in H1 helped the company increase revenues to PEN 236 million ($72.2 million) in the six-month period, from PEN 207 million ($63.3 million).
