The construction of a new gate to the Pecém port complex in Ceará state will facilitate exports for local slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP), a media report by Diario do Nordeste said this week. CSP is a joint venture between Vale, Posco and Dongkuk own CSP.

The Brazilian state of Ceará will build a BRL 3.4 million gate connecting the existing CE-576 road to the port’s complex.

The CE-576 road, which is 99 percent complete, is also known as the “slab road.” Construction is expected to conclude in March this year. Ceará state-owned Companhia de Desenvolvimento do Complexo Industrial e Portuário do Pecém (Cipp) has already commenced construction works for the new gate connecting to the Pecém port complex.
