Passenger traffic by rail in key Chinese cities up 12.9% in Jan-May

In May, passenger traffic in 36 key cities in China reached 5.82 billion, up 3.3 percent year on year, as announced by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT). In particular, passenger traffic by rail in the 36 key cities rose by 11.8 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-May period of the year, passenger traffic in the key cities in question reached 27.28 billion, up 3.0 percent year on year, with the passenger traffic by rail rising by 12.9 percent year on year.
