Sichuan Province-based Chinese steel producer Panzhihua Iron and Steel Company (Panzhihua Steel) has announced that the coke dry quenching (CDQ) project implemented by its coking plant in Xichang in Sichuan will be put into production in late April this year.

At present, the coking plant in Xichang is installing and testing the main equipment for the project. The pre-heating process is expected to be initiated in mid-April. With the CDQ system, polluting emissions will be reduced, while the quality of coke will be improved.
