Pangang Group inks agreement with Alibaba Cloud and Jwell

Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Pangang Group has announced that it has inked a cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm and business unit of Alibaba Group, and with Sichuan Province-based Jwell Group Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, Alibaba’s ET industrial brain will be applied in Pangang Group’s converter steelmaking process, which will optimize its steelmaking and slagging process and reduce costs by tens of millions of renminbi (RMB) per year.
