Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 473,912 mt in August this year, increasing by seven percent compared to July and up 91.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in August was $153 million, increasing by 7.1 percent month on month and up 135.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in August amounted to 384,754 mt, up 11.4 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 32.7 percent year on year. In the given month, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $222.87 million, increasing by 16.2 percent month on month and up 19.7 percent year on year.
