Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 45.9 percent in January

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 204,950 mt in January this year, declining 11.4 percent compared to December 2014 and up 45.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in January was $81.4 million, declining by 11.3 percent month on month and up 59.1 year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in January amounted to 202,154 mt, up 17.5 percent on year-on-year basis and down 5.4 percent compared to the previous month. In the month in question, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $148 million, increasing by 20.8 percent year on year and down 6.6 percent month on month.
