Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 14.3 percent in September

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 251,246 mt in September this year, decreasing by 3.9 percent compared to August and up 14.3 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in September was $64.47 million, decreasing by 0.8 percent month on month and down 6.1 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in September amounted to 223,588 mt, down 35.7 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 5.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In September this year, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $124.32 million, decreasing by 33.2 percent month on month and down 10.5 percent year on year.
