Pakistan's iron and steel imports up 36.7 percent in June over May

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 249,333 mt in June this year, increasing 14.86 percent compared to May and up 71.22 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in June was $102.41 million, increasing by 27.55 percent month on month and up 90.53 year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in June amounted to 250,695 mt, increasing by 15.73 percent on year-on-year basis and up 36.73 percent compared to the previous month. In the month in question, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $171.48 million, increasing by 4.15 percent year on year and rising by 21.56 percent month on month.
