In the January-October period of the current year, the aggregate shipbuilding output of the 53 major shipbuilding enterprises in China amounted to 32.90 million dead weight tons (dwt), up 24.3 percent year on year, as announced by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI). In the given period, new ship orders of the 53 major shipbuilding enterprises amounted to 20.68 million dwt, increasing by 19.9 percent year on year. As of the end of October, ship orders on the books of the shipbuilding enterprises in question totaled 77.91 million dwt, down 24.5 percent year on year.
In the January-October period of the current year, the aggregate shipbuilding output for export orders of the 53 major shipbuilding enterprises in China totaled 30.76 million dead weight tons (dwt), up 43.5 percent year on year. Meanwhile, new ship export orders of the shipbuilding enterprises in the period in question amounted to 18.82 million dwt, increasing by 32.3 percent year on year. As of the end of October, ship export orders on the books of the 53 major shipbuilding enterprises totaled 72.46 million dwt, down 28.1 percent year on year.
