Finnish stainless steel producer Outokumpu has announced that, in order to develop a flatter and more efficient organization with increased operational focus, its Specialty Stainless operations' former business units Special Coil & Plate and Thin Strip will be replaced by new units Special Coil and Special Plate.

"We aim at creating stable profitability through increased sales of special products and more efficient production. In the medium and long-term, special stainless products are strategically well positioned, supported by good demand prospects for tailored products. In addition, there is great potential to increase our exports to fast-growing markets outside Europe," said Bo Annvik, head of Outokumpu's Specialty Stainless division.
