Oregon Steel Mills lease former LTV Facility

The US steel producer Oregon Steel Mills stated that it has leased the equipments of the former LTV Structural Tube Facility which is located in Portland, Oregon. The company also has an option to acquire LTV when the lease expires in March 2017. The equipments that are leased by Oregon Steel are slitting line, structural tubing mill, coating system and manufacturing facility. The facility known as Columbia Structural Tubing (CST) will produce rectangular hollow steel sections in the range of 6.35-25.4 cm. CST will supply structural tubing to a regional market, including British Columbia, the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Northern California, Idaho and Utah. Oregon officials expressed that the company has additional downstream opportunities for coil product and the ability to produce quality tubing for Northwest customers, by leasing these equipments.
