Ontario-based manufacturer Wolf Steel announced Tuesday a $4.2 million federal grant, which will allow the company’s current line of gas barbecue and hearth products to expand into the US-dominated market of HVAC and air-conditioning. The company expects the expansion will create over 170 new jobs.

“Since the creation of FedDev in 2009, we have funded thousands of partnerships, over 5,300 projects, put over $1.2 billion onto the economic table of southern Ontario and this includes by the way, about $39.5 million for 96 different projects in the Simcoe region alone,” said Minister of State Gary Goodyear, of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
